Ripe
blackberry, white pepper, and hints of anise, dry cocoa and
rosemary make up the complex aromas of this wine. Blackberry
flavors are accompanied by fresh blueberry, spicy oak and savory
herb notes. Firm acidity and supple tannins give this wine a long
and rich finish providing excellent aging potential.
Winemaker
Notes
The fruit
for this Syrah primarily comes from two notable regions of Sonoma
County: Sonoma Valley and Russian River Valley. The grapes
grown in Sonoma Valley produce wines with intense color, full
structure, and concentrated fruit flavors. The wine produced from
grapes grown in the cooler climate of the Russian River area
contributes dark berry fruit enhanced with earth and spice
character. Together, these differing yet compatible profiles allow
for a complex and harmonious blend.
Food Pairing
The elegant
and full-bodied flavors of this wine make it an ideal accompaniment
to game, lamb, beef and pork dishes.
